- Step 1: Create Windows Installation Media
- Download Windows Media Creation Tool:
Visit the Microsoft Website and download the Media Creation Tool.
- Create Installation Media:
Start the Media Creation Tool and select "Create installation media for another PC (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file)".
- Select USB drive or ISO file:
Follow the instructions to either create a bootable USB drive or save an ISO file that you can later burn to a DVD.
Step 2: Reinstall Windows
- Boot PC from installation media:
Insert the created USB drive or insert the DVD and restart your PC.
Press the necessary key (often F12, ESC, F2, or DEL) to open the boot menu and select the installation media.
- Start Windows Setup:
Once the Windows Setup starts, select your language, time, and keyboard settings, and click "Next."
Click "Install now."
- Enter product key:
Enter your valid Windows product key when prompted, and click "Next."
- Select custom installation:
Select "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)" to perform a clean installation.
Select the drive where Windows should be installed. You can delete or format partitions if desired.
- Complete installation:
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Your PC will restart multiple times.
Step 3: Set up Windows
- Initial setup:
After installation, you will be guided through the Windows initial setup, where you configure settings such as region, language, keyboard, user account, and privacy options.
- Install drivers and updates:
Make sure all drivers are installed and up to date. Visit your PC manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers if they are not automatically installed.
Install all available Windows updates to ensure your system is up to date.
